I had the wonderful pleasure of recording a podcast with my dear friend, Sangeeta. Her blog- Kids Are Gifts is an inspirational legacy to her son who tragically took his own life in 2014. She writes beautiful posts daily about her own mental health experiences, nostalgic family memories and stories of others who have suffered from mental illness.
She very generously gave me the opportunity to share my personal mental health story. When Sangeeta first approached me with this proposal, I was hesitant and anxious because I struggle with verbalising my mental health issues. However, she made me feel so comfortable by her ability to engage and empathise with zero judgement. I’m still extremely nervous about putting this podcast out there but I know that I have to share my own experiences to enable a much wider open dialogue about mental health.
